Accessibility
Bogey Logger is committed to making both our website and mobile app usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of our privacy-first, people-first approach — not an afterthought.
Our goal
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for this website, and to follow the Apple and Google platform accessibility guidelines in the Bogey Logger mobile app. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to improve.
What we're working toward on this website
- Semantic, structured HTML with proper headings and landmarks.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers.
- A color palette that meets AA contrast for body text on our dark theme. Some small secondary text does not yet meet AA, and we are correcting it.
- Keyboard-operable navigation. We are improving the visibility of focus indicators.
- Respect for your "reduce motion" setting, which disables decorative animation. An app-preview clip on the home page still plays automatically; we are addressing that.
- Responsive layouts that work on small screens and when text is enlarged.
In the app
The Bogey Logger app is built to work with your device's accessibility features. Controls carry screen-reader labels, buttons expose their state, and form fields are named — so VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android can describe them. We are continuing to improve support for very large text sizes and for moving focus within dialogs.
Known limitations
We want to be straightforward about where we fall short today rather than claim more than we have earned:
- The interactive scorecard and some data visualizations are harder to use with assistive technology.
- Dialogs do not yet move screen-reader focus to themselves when they open.
- At the largest accessibility text sizes, some button labels shrink or truncate.
- A small amount of secondary text falls below AA contrast, and some score colours are close to the threshold at small sizes.
These are being worked on. If any of them block you, please tell us — we will prioritise accordingly.
